Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the Christ Embassy Barnet website at christembassybarnet.org. It follows the structure the Government Digital Service uses for public sector sites. We are a church rather than a public body, so we are not legally required to publish one — we do because everybody should be able to find out when we meet and how to reach us.

How accessible this website is

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. We believe most of the site now meets that standard. The parts we know fall short are listed below.

You should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the whole website using just a keyboard
  • navigate the whole website using speech recognition software
  • listen to the whole website using a screen reader

Known problems

We are aware of the following and are working on them:

  • Icons depend on an external service. Decorative icons are loaded from a content delivery network. If that service is blocked or unavailable the icons do not appear. No information is carried by an icon alone, so nothing is lost beyond the decoration.
  • The contact and e-book forms are not yet connected. Both forms check what you have entered and tell you about any problems, but the service that delivers the message has not been switched on. Until it is, please email or telephone us using the details below.
  • Some small print is below 16px. A few decorative labels are set smaller than our normal body text. They repeat information that is also given in a nearby heading.

How we tested this website

The site was last reviewed in August 2026. The review covered every page listed in our sitemap and checked colour contrast, keyboard operation, heading structure, form labelling and error handling.
